A few people have asked about sources for Puritan literature. Don’t buy anything! One of the the many benefits of reading the Puritans (and those that preach and teach the Puritan genre) is that most of the material is free and easily accessible. Here are a few of my favorite “watering holes” for those of you that may be curious.
1. http://www.puritansermons.com/toc.htm
2. http://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/books/onlinebooks.html
3. http://www.puritanlibrary.com/ (my favorite)
4. http://www.chapellibrary.org/
5. http://www.eternallifeministries.org/books1.htm
6. http://archive.org/details/Princeton (original texts)
I could bore you with commentary on each site but the best thing for you to do is to explore each on your own and prayerfully pull out what best helps you. I would suggest that you start with Thomas Watson, Richard Sibbes, or John Newton. Also, start with their articles or sermons on specific topics. Jumping on something heavy right out of the gate might not be helpful. Enjoy!
