1 Peter 3:3–4 “Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”
Capturing True Beauty in a Photoshopped World
Women desire to be beautiful. The world knows this and plays upon it by constantly feeding us unrealistic images to strive after. In this workshop we will consider God’s definition of beauty as communicated in scripture and look at how to find our identity in the Lord rather than the mass media.
Questions to ask yourself:
Do I spend more time flipping through magazines, or in God’s word?
How much money do I spend on clothes, cosmetics and body treatments vs giving to the church/others in need?
When I get dressed, is it for my own glory or the glory of God?
Do I spend more time on fashion blogs, youtube or online dating sites or in the word and prayer?
Do I spend the majority of my time beautifying myself outwardly or inwardly?
Is my desire to be beautiful rooted in wanting attention or drawing much attention to God?
