Kelton Zacharias – Operations Administrator (

Kelton Zacharias grew up in Connecticut and came to the DC area in 2005 to attend the George Washington University. By God’s grace, his roommate was a Christian who encouraged him to attend a campus bible study. Though he was raised in a churched home, he came to know the Lord through that college ministry. Kelton met his future wife at GWU in 2006 – they started dating in 2012 when they were both members of Capitol Hill Baptist Church. They were married in fall of 2013, and moved to the Del Ray area. Kelton loves the Washington Nationals, video games, running, and studying theology.



Heather Robinson – Office Manager (

Heather grew up one of six siblings in Strawberry Plains, TN, with cows and the Holston River for neighbors. She came to trust in Jesus at a young age through hearing the gospel at home and school, and followed God’s call to Washington, DC, to study Psychology and Spanish at American University. There, her faith in Jesus deepened through mentoring others and service opportunities around the world. Prior to coming to Del Ray, Heather worked in nonprofit administration and management for 10 years, equipping her for service as Office Manager for Del Ray Baptist Church. She is currently studying at SBTS for her Master’s in Biblical Counseling and is an avid reader, dog-lover, etymologist and champion of any charade-related game. She and her husband, Matthew, married in 2014 and have been DRBC members since 2015.


Thomas Anderson – Pastoral Assistant

Thomas Anderson grew up in D.C. where his grandmother shared the gospel with him and where he came to know Jesus as Lord at the age of 12. Thomas attended Philadelphia Biblical University and worked 3 years as a Pastoral Assistant at Epiphany Fellowship. He later became a Community Groups Pastor at Vintage Church in Raleigh, N.C. while pursuing an M.Div. at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the Fall of 2016, Thomas, his wife of 7 years, and their three daughters moved to Alexandria in preparation to plant a church in Oxon Hill, MD.


Sterling Emerling

Sterling Emerling – Clerk

Sterling grew up in the Indianapolis area. She came to know Christ as a child, after hearing the gospel faithfully taught at church and by her parents. Sterling attended Cedarville University in Ohio and interned in DC as a student before returning after graduation for work. Sterling and her husband, Gary, were married in 2011 and were part of Capitol Hill Baptist Church before joining Del Ray in 2014. Sterling works in digital marketing at a nonprofit and enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time with family.


Jon Fuller – Deacon of Hospitality

Jonathan was born in Alabama and grew up in Belize. While attending college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Jon met his wife Leigh during their sophomore year. After graduation, Jon joined the Army in 2007 and was stationed in Kentucky. He married Leigh in 2009 and they have moved 5 times since. Although raised in a Christian home, Jon did not believe upon Christ for salvation until September 2015. He was confronted with his sin and hypocrisy and God softened his heart towards repentance and faith. When the Army moved them to Alexandria in 2016, they began attending Del Ray Baptist Church. Jon enjoys working out, biking, hiking with their dogs, and pretty much any outdoor activity.


Leigh Fuller – Deaconess of Hospitality

Leigh was born in Alabama, but since her dad was in the military, she grew up all over the world. Although she frequently remembers “asking Jesus into her heart” she did not see any fruit in her life. After graduating from Samford University in 2007, she joined the Air Force as a nurse. Leigh married Jon in 2009 and after getting out of the Air Force, they have moved frequently for Jon’s Army career. While living in North Carolina, after hearing the gospel faithfully preached in 2012, Leigh came to fully understand that faith alone in Christ saves her soul. When they moved to Alexandria in 2016 they began attending Del Ray Baptist Church. She is so thankful for God’s tangible grace in her life. She continues to work as a nurse and enjoys coffee shops, dog park visits with her two pups, and naps.


Andrew Hobold – Deacon of Community Care

God saved Andrew at 5yrs old and has been faithful to grant him repentance ever since. From birth in CA, salvation and baptism in TX, graduating in PA, to employment in VA, God has led him faithfully. After moving to Alexandria in 2015, Andrew joined Del Ray Baptist Church and is serving in childcare, youth leading, member care, and DRBC events. He works full-time as a DoD logistics contractor, part-time as an Army Officer, and party-time as dancer and DJ. Andrew enjoys meeting new people, talking about Jesus, cracking jokes, and serving others.



Brent Maravilla – Deacon of Children’s Ministry

Brent grew up in Southern California and was saved in his late teens after his older brother shared the gospel with him. He moved to the DC area for college where he met his wife Hope. They were members at Capitol Hill Baptist Church for 13 years before joining Del Ray Baptist Church in the Fall of 2012. Brent is a contracting officer for the Environmental Protection Agency, and enjoys bop / hard bop jazz and spending time with his family.


Laura Hill – Deaconess of Children’s Ministry

Laura grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. She came to Christ as a teenager, having heard the gospel faithfully taught by her parents and at church. She attended Clemson University, where she studied Materials Science and Engineering and met her husband, Chris. Chris and Laura married in 2011 and were members of Crosspoint Church in Clemson for several years before moving to the DC area in 2014. They have been blessed to be a part of the Del Ray family since that time. Laura is a project manager at the Department of Energy and enjoys knitting, reading, and spending time with family.

Daniel Jemibewon – Deacon of Community Care

Daniel was born and raised in Columbus, OH and came to the DC Metro Area in 2012 from Grand Rapids, MI. Daniel was saved when, through the discipleship of a worship pastor at his local church in Grand Rapids, the Lord showed Daniel that he couldn’t earn or work his way to heaven. Salvation was a free gift of God, paid for in full by the work of Christ on the cross. Daniel Joined Del Ray Baptist Church in 2013, met his wife Colle there, and was married there in 2014. Daniel enjoys photography, music, movies, and spending quality time with loved ones.



Jerry Liang – Deacon of Finance

Jerry grew up in Northern NJ and was saved by Jesus out of atheism through the faithful work of a christian club in his high school. Jerry spent seven years as a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church before joining Del Ray Baptist Church at the end of 2012. Jerry and his wife Danielle live in Annandale with their 3 children. Jerry works in investments and finance for Sunrise Senior Living and enjoys music and sports.



Eric Sprankle – Deacon of Greeting

Eric was born in Texas and raised in a military family who moved often to different parts of the U.S and the U.K. Eric came to know Christ as a child after hearing the gospel from from his faithful parents and church. In 2008, two years after high school, Eric joined the USAF and was stationed in Anchorage, AK thus beginning his own journey in the military. After three years, Eric was transferred to Joint Base Andrews, MD in 2011 and married his wife, Leslie, in 2012. In 2013, Eric and Leslie joined Del Ray Baptist Church after an extensive search for a church home. Eric likes snowboarding, camping, hunting, shooting, exercising, video games, movies, books, Chicago sport teams and various other activities.


Jeremiah Holston

Jeremiah Holston – Deacon of Member Care

Jeremiah was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and came to know Christ early on while attending church. He moved to Washington, DC to attend Howard University. It was there that his walk began to deepen after being plugged in to a college Christian ministry. He also met his wife, Ashley, through the group. Married in 2012, they currently have 3 children together. Jeremiah works in sales and enjoys toddler wrangling, cooking, and reading.


Robby Watson – Deacon of Ordinances

Robby grew up in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He came to know Christ in middle school after hearing the gospel faithfully preached by his parents and at church. Robby and his wife Caroline were married in 2014, and later that year moved to northern Virginia where they joined Del Ray. They currently live in Arlington and have a one year old daughter, Emmaline. Robby enjoys the outdoors, sports, and spending time with his family exploring D.C. and the surrounding metro area.


Gordie Zimmermann – Deacon of Community Care

Gordie was born in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Connecticut at the age of 12. Gordie was raised in a Christian home, but did not fully grasp the truth of the gospel and his personal need for a Savior in Jesus Christ until the age of 20. Gordie attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois where he studied business/economics. After graduating from Wheaton, Gordie remained in the area for several years before moving to Northern Virginia in 2015. He currently works in Financial Services and enjoys Chicago Blackhawks hockey, live music, golf, and exploring Old Town Alexandria.
