Kelton Zacharias – Operations Administrator (email@example.com)
Kelton Zacharias grew up in Connecticut and came to the DC area in 2005 to attend the George Washington University. By God’s grace, his roommate was a Christian who encouraged him to attend a campus bible study. Though he was raised in a churched home, he came to know the Lord through that college ministry. Kelton met his future wife at GWU in 2006 – they started dating in 2012 when they were both members of Capitol Hill Baptist Church. They were married in fall of 2013, and moved to the Del Ray area. Kelton loves the Washington Nationals, video games, running, and studying theology.
Annette Webster – Administrator (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Annette is married to Pat and they have two grown sons. Jordan (27), who is married to Alicia, and Joseph (21). By God’s grace Annette and Pat came to trust in Jesus Christ soon after they were married. They have served in a number of ministries in the Denton, TX area since 1999. Annette has a heart for counseling women and loves sharing the word of God with them. They are very excited to begin this new chapter in Virginia and join the Del Ray Baptist Church family.
Heather Robinson – Biblical Counselor (email@example.com)
Heather grew up one of six siblings in Strawberry Plains, TN, with cows and the Holston River for neighbors. She came to trust in Jesus at a young age through hearing the gospel at home and school, and followed God’s call to Washington, DC, to study at American University. There, her faith in Jesus deepened through discipleship and service opportunities around the world. Heather has her Master’s in Biblical Counseling from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has served on staff with DRBC since October, 2016. She and her husband, Matthew, married in 2014 and have been DRBC members since 2015.
Thomas Anderson – Pastoral Assistant
Thomas Anderson grew up in D.C. where his grandmother shared the gospel with him and where he came to know Jesus as Lord at the age of 12. Thomas attended Philadelphia Biblical University and worked 3 years as a Pastoral Assistant at Epiphany Fellowship. He later became a Community Groups Pastor at Vintage Church in Raleigh, N.C. while pursuing an M.Div. at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the Fall of 2016, Thomas, his wife of 7 years, and their three daughters moved to Alexandria in preparation to plant a church in Oxon Hill, MD.
Joshua Chatman – Pastoral Assistant
Joshua Chatman grew up in Lancaster, Texas. He attended the University of North Texas where he came to know the Lord through reading the Scriptures. Joshua served as a Youth Coordinator for 3 years at an urban para-church ministry, “Memphis Athletic Ministries.” During that time the Lord gave him the desire to be a pastor at a local church. After serving as a youth coordinator, he transitioned into being a Junior High Director for Harvest Church in Memphis, TN. He later moved to Alexandria, VA to do the Pastoral Internship at DRBC. Joshua now serves as a Pastoral Assistant and is getting his MDiv at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Joshua is joyfully married to Stephanie Chatman. They enjoy watching movies, dancing to different genres of music, and doing Kickboxing workouts at 9Round.

Janet Choo – Deaconess of Events & Weddings
Janet grew up in Union City, California and came to know the Lord at a young age through the faithful teaching of her father, a pastor, and mother. She attended Harvard College where she studied government. The Lord faithfully sustained and drew Janet closer to him in the midst of her studies and the frigid Boston winters. Upon graduating, she moved to Baltimore to work as a kindergarten teacher through Teach For America. It is at their church in Baltimore that Janet met Johann whom she married in 2016. Janet and Johann are grateful to the Lord for bringing them to Del Ray Baptist Church. Currently, Janet works in marketing for Sunrise Senior Living and enjoys eating, exploring new places to eat, and cooking for others to eat.
Johann Choo – Deacon of Events & Weddings
Johann was born in Canada and grew up mostly in Alabama. By God’s grace, and through this parent’s faithful teaching of the gospel, Johann came to know the Lord at an early age, but really came to have a personal walk with God during his time in Baltimore where he attended JHU and studied Material Science and Engineering. While in Baltimore, he met his wife, Janet. After graduation, Johann started work at the U.S. Patent Office in Alexandria, VA as a patent examiner. He and Janet got married in April of 2016 and started attending DRBC the following fall. Johann spends his free time working out, climbing, hiking, and likes to participate in practically any outdoor activity.
Craig Daniell – Deacon of Ordinances
Craig was born and raised in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. God saved him at the age of seven through the faithful teaching of the Scriptures at the church he attended. He went to Ouachita Baptist University and pursued a Christian Studies degree, graduating in May 2015. Shortly after graduating, he married Kelsi, and the two lived in Little Rock, AR for a year and a half, where he served on staff at a local church. They moved to Alexandria in January 2017 and began attending Del Ray shortly after. Craig participated in the 2017-18 DRBC Pastoral Internship and now teaches Christian Studies at a local high school. In his free time, he enjoys movies, sports, and the outdoors.
Laura Hill – Deaconess of Children’s Ministry
Laura grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. She came to Christ as a teenager, having heard the gospel faithfully taught by her parents and at church. She attended Clemson University, where she studied Materials Science and Engineering and met her husband, Chris. Chris and Laura married in 2011 and were members of Crosspoint Church in Clemson for several years before moving to the DC area in 2014. They have been blessed to be a part of the Del Ray family since that time. Laura is a project manager at the Department of Energy and enjoys knitting, reading, and spending time with family.
Andrew Hobold – Deacon of Community Care
God saved Andrew at 5yrs old and has been faithful to grant him repentance ever since. From birth in CA, salvation and baptism in TX, graduating in PA, to employment in VA, God has led him faithfully. After moving to Alexandria in 2015, Andrew joined Del Ray Baptist Church and is serving in childcare, youth leading, member care, and DRBC events. He works full-time as a DoD logistics contractor, part-time as an Army Officer, and party-time as dancer and DJ. Andrew enjoys meeting new people, talking about Jesus, cracking jokes, and serving others.
Jeremiah Holston – Deacon of Member Care
Jeremiah was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and came to know Christ early on while attending church. He moved to Washington, DC to attend Howard University. It was there that his walk began to deepen after being plugged in to a college Christian ministry. He also met his wife, Ashley, through the group. Married in 2012, they currently have 3 children together. Jeremiah works in sales and enjoys toddler wrangling, cooking, and reading.
Justin Hughes – Deacon of Member Care
Justin grew up right here in Alexandria, VA in a Christian home. He heard and believed the gospel at a young age and was baptized at First Baptist Church Alexandria. He attended Wake Forest University for college followed by VCU for dental school where he met his wife Laura. They journeyed up to NYC and then out to Iowa for residency and finally returned back home to Alexandria where Justin practices orthodontics with his dad. Justin and Laura are so thankful for the faithful preaching and loving community of believers at DRBC. In his spare time, Justin enjoys the outdoors, sports, coffee, powerlifting, and spending time with family and friends.
Laura Hughes – Deaconess of Member Care
Laura Hughes grew up in Midlothian VA. Truly grateful for the faithful shepherding of her parents and local church family, Laura came to trust in our Savior Jesus Christ as her Lord from a young age. Homeschooled through 9th grade and then attending public school 10th-12th, Laura is thankful for the Lord’s protection and faithfulness to continue drawing her ever nearer by His grace. Laura attended VCU for a degree in Exercise Science and at the conclusion of her Junior year was cleverly introduced to her husband Justin by her sneaky, intentional roommate who was in Justin’s community group. Laura and Justin were married in May of 2013 and immediately moved to NYC for Justin’s dental residency program. After nannying in NYC for the year, Justin and Laura moved to Iowa City for Justin to complete his studies while Laura worked as the Front Office Manager for a Children’s Therapy Center. Justin and Laura have lived and attended Del Ray since their move to Alexandria in 2016. Laura is currently a stay at home mom raising her 1yr old son Caleb, with a little sister on the way in Feb 2019. Laura deeply enjoys meeting up with others for playdates and coffee times, exercise, warm fires, anything outside, and a really good laugh!
Andrea Kiser – Clerk
Andrea grew up in Maryland, where she came to know the Lord and showed an early aptitude for clerking by cataloging her home’s library. Her experience at Cedarville University taught her to organize information, and she had the chance to prove her administrative skills while working in ministry as the Assistant Director of a Christian girls’ camp in upstate New York. Graduate studies brought her back to Washington D.C. in 2011, where she accrued minute-taking experience by working for multiple Christian non-profits in the DC area. She joined Del Ray Baptist Church in 2017, and began to serve as the Clerk in 2018.
Jerry Liang – Deacon of Finance
Jerry grew up in Northern NJ and was saved by Jesus out of atheism through the faithful work of a christian club in his high school. Jerry spent seven years as a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church before joining Del Ray Baptist Church at the end of 2012. Jerry and his wife Danielle live in Annandale with their 3 children. Jerry works in investments and finance for Sunrise Senior Living and enjoys music and sports.
Alyssa Mackett – Deaconess of Hospitality
Alyssa was born and raised in Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was saved through the faithful discipleship of older women in the campus ministry, Cru. She will always be grateful for the formational years of evangelism and discipleship training and equipping she received through Cru on campus. She graduated with her BS in Social Welfare and Human Development and Family Studies before moving to NOVA with her husband, Dan, in May 2017. Dan and Alyssa now both work at International Justice Mission, an organization they love and are deeply passionate about. Alyssa has been a member at DRBC since August of 2017 and serving as a Deaconess of Hospitality since October of 2018.
Dan Mackett – Deacon of Hospitality
Dan was born and raised in Wisconsin with parents who loved and served the Lord. Dan came to know the Lord at a young age but deeply struggled to walk in the Spirit in middle school and high school. As he started attending the University of Wisconsin, God started drawing him into closer fellowship with Himself through various trials and difficulties. Halfway through freshman year, he joined Cru (a Christian ministry on campus) where he started growing in the Lord through discipleship, community, and faithful brothers in Christ. Ever since, God has used many faithful believers to pour into Dan and help him live out the gospel in all areas of life. He graduated in May of 2015 with Marketing and Supply Chain Management degrees. He served with a management consulting firm in Chicago/Madison for 2 years and then transitioned into his current role of leading the College Program at International Justice Mission. Dan and his wife, Alyssa, moved to Virginia in May of 2017, joined DRBC in August 2017, and started serving as Deacons of Hospitality in October 2018.
Christina Rosenberger – Deaconess of Greeting Ministry
Christina grew up in Ontario, Canada, where God mercifully surrounded her with faithful teaching of His Word. While she believed what she heard about the existence and loving provision of the Triune God, she sees now that she took forgiveness in Christ for granted and that she worshipped God in word but was not truly surrendering her life to Him. After moving to Urbana, Illinois in 2010 to study cellular biology, she met her husband Matt. Challenged by Matt’s commitment to studying Scripture and by questions from her unbelieving friends, she began to study the Word more faithfully. God graciously worked His words into her heart and won her affections and sincere worship. She is so grateful for her identity in Christ and for the repentance, peace, and joy that the Spirit continues working in her heart. Matt and Christina were married in 2014 and have been blessed to be a part of DRBC since moving to Arlington in 2016. Christina enjoys fellowship, cooking, all kinds of sports and games, and being outside.
Matt Rosenberger – Deacon of Greeting Ministry
Matt grew up in Urbana, Illinois in a Christian home where he heard about Jesus often and committed to following Jesus at an early age. Over the years, his awareness of his own sin and thankfulness for God’s forgiveness through Christ has continued to grow. College was a particularly impactful time for Matt, when several faithful men challenged him to more consistently study God’s word, identify and confess his sin, and to apply God’s word to every area of his life. Matt feels blessed to be married to his wife, Christina. Matt enjoys playing sports and games, watching movies, cooking, music, physics, and, generally, learning about anything.
Gordie Zimmermann – Deacon of Community Care
Gordie was born in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Connecticut at the age of 12. Gordie was raised in a Christian home, but did not fully grasp the truth of the gospel and his personal need for a Savior in Jesus Christ until the age of 20. Gordie attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois where he studied business/economics. After graduating from Wheaton, Gordie remained in the area for several years before moving to Northern Virginia in 2015. He currently works in Financial Services and enjoys Chicago Blackhawks hockey, live music, golf, and exploring Old Town Alexandria.
